South Western

We are one of the most widely spread of all the TA’s regions and our area reaches from Mid- and South Wales, across to Salisbury in Wiltshire and right down to Penzance.

Our numbers vary between 30 and 40, not all equally active, and include currently and recently active racing men, active and not so active tourists, and social members.

Our activities are, for practical reasons, generally centred in and around the Bristol area.

In 2011, we will be running three time-trials (one at 10 miles, two at 25 miles) based at Falfield, north of Bristol on the A38, and three others at 10, 25, and 50 miles in Hampshire. A well-attended social run and meet for lunch was held in early December at Rangeworthy, and some additional meets are also planned, the first being at Chew Stoke in February (please see the programme below).

Our AGM is planned to be held in the village hall at Falfield immediately after the August “25”.

We hope to make your acquaintance some time.

For 2011 TA (SW) events, certificates will also be awarded to all Veterans (i.e. riders over 40 years of age) beating their Standard times as tabulated by the Veterans’ Time Trial Association / Tricycle Association.

Additionally, there will be a Tricycle Association (South Western) “Best All-Rounder” (TASWBAR) competition, based on the best average speeds over 10, 25, and 50 miles in SW Regional events. Certificates will be given to all qualifiers.
