North Eastern Luncheon

Before the North East Lunch eleven riders took part in the 15-mile run led by Keith Buck (5 solo tricycles; 5 solo bicycles; & one tandem tricycle.) David Stone out-sprinted Carl Saint for the Easingwold sign!

Noel Knox organised the Lunch at 'The George', Easingwold, 25/01/09. Guests of Honour were David Stone M.B.E. (Yorkshire R.C. & N.E. member), and Jim Hopper (Derby Mercury R.C., T.A. President, Time Trial Secretary and Midland member).

44 sat down to an excellent meal. Award winners present were Stephen Brown; Keith Buck; Les Dawson; Jim Hopper; Alison Purser; Carl Saint & Frank Whitelock.

Noel Knox and Brian Henderson showed photographs of Tommy Thompson's Memorial Seat that is to be sited on the Sustrans Sea2Sea route close to Beamish Museum. The ironwork has been completed and is ready for powder coating or galvanising. Brian Henderson and Noel Knox (Houghton C.C.) have led the project through all stages of planning and building, much of it at the club's own workshops. The work has progressed with extensive donations of time and materials, and is well inside budget to date. The seat will have been sited by Sunday, 26th April, the day of the dedication. There will be a run associated with the dedication.
