Record Schedules Activated
Saturday and Sunday, 9th and 10th May, 2009.
The record books of the North and West Home Counties Road Records Association have had a new name added. Carl Saint (Yorkshire R.C.) successfully completed attempts on the solo tricycle 10 and 25 miles Association records. He used CTT approved courses near Newark, Nottinghamshire, and was close to his best. On the damp and blustery Saturday evening he recorded 22.09 to establish a time for the N&WHCRRA ‘10’. On the following Sunday morning Carl took advantage of the calm and cool, but bright conditions to record 55.52 for 25 miles. Previous Record Holder, Tom Morley, (1.04.09 - 1971) was quick to send his best wishes on Carl’s success. These times are subject to ratification.

The Vale of Belvoir Runs
Saturday and Sunday 11th and 12th April 2009. (Easter W/E)
Organised by Dickie Nightingale.
Eventually the number of riders for these run was cut to just three: Dickie Nightingale; and Alison and Martin Purser. Finding a suitable venue for lunch proved more difficult than anticipated on the Saturday, but eventually the trio ended up at Hardy’s Farm Shop. Dickie’s ‘local knowledge’ found routes that were quiet and interesting, and avoided many of the steeper climbs. 95 miles over the two days.

Many thanks to John and Helen for the excellent refreshments afterwards.
