Bruce Kingsford Weekend

Belated report on the Bruce Kingsford 50, and trikes in the Anfield:
Two contrasting days.
Strong westerly winds and dry weather for the 50, won by Carl saint in 2hrs; 8 mins; 13 secs, 35 minutes up on Peter Holland. Vic Trigger took the handicap award with Carl fastest Vet on Std with a whopping +26:10.
Bank Holiday dawned, relatively still but drizzling, as it had done on and off all night. Jim Hopper wisely chose to save his strength but rode round the course in the reverse direction encouraging the others. After 6:28:36 in the rain, Martin Badham was suffering from wash-day hands all over and Peter Holland was on the verge of hypothermia after a sterling 5:46:08, lifting the prize for best veteran on tricycle who had completed the BK50.
Howard Waller stormed round in 4:52:36, joking about the weather when he caught yours truly, and Ralph Dadswell partnered by Paul Mace rode their tandem-trike to a 4:30:31.
Having baptised us the weather turned nice for the afternoon, which dried out the tents nicely.
