Fliss Beard 100 2010
On a day full of Championships, the RTTC National Championships were won by Michael Hutchinson (3:23:04) and Julia Shaw (3:45:22 - Competition Record).
But in the main event Carl Saint powered his tricycle around the 26 mile circuit in 4:10:53 to claim the Fliss Beard Trophy. Peter Holland, despite a rear end shunt from a bicycle competitor, finished with a net handicap time head and shoulders above the rest. Caroline Nye finished in 6:28: 01 to add another distance to her tally, we look forward to seeing her qualify for a Major Lyles certificate when she completes the 12 hour in a few weeks time.
On the social side, several competitors camped before the event at a splendid site in near-by New Buckenham to celebrate Gwyneth's birthday. This is a really nice, quiet site which has been earmarked for accomodation when the Eastern 12 draws near.
Results have been posted, the RTTC National Championship providing splits as riders passed the finish each time.
